My work has been featured as the cover art of the Korean translation edition of Hakubutsu / Le Boudhha Blanc by Japanese writer Tsuji Hitonari. In 1999 Le Boudhha Blanc won the French Literary prize Prix Femina Etranger.
Although I am unable to read the language, the publisher was kind enough to offer these words on the subject of the book “It philosophically reflects life and death, war and peace”. The book is extraordinarily beautiful and I am thrilled to be a part of the newest publication.
I hope all is well with all of my friends here. I hope those whom are artists themselves are forging ahead with their creative journeys! I have been pedaling along myself. I am happy to say that I don't feel quite as overwhelmed so much anymore. Maybe it's because my youngest is leaving the 'baby' stage. Not that the terrible two's have been a walk in the park, but it has somehow changed and is in many ways easier. I have stopped stretching and squeezing and forcing my art time in. I don't think it happened so much as a conscious decision, more just happened on it's own which I am grateful for.
I have been moving ahead with some exciting projects lately. There is actually second book that is currently in print that will feature my work as the cover art too, which is exciting! Been working on some neat pieces in between and just handling the daily business of my Etsy shop.
Time to run and wake up my youngest one. Did I really just let her nap until 5pm?? I did, and I am going to pay. for. it. tonight :) :)

Beautiful!
Congratulations! This is a dream of mine.
You know, I always pounce on your new blog posts because they're so infrequent yet engaging. Maybe you're onto something here… I'm seriously considering blogging less frequently right now :P x
Fantastic! I really loved that painting when you first posted it and it looks great on the book!
It sounds like a fascinating book too, shame theres no translation at the moment... but well done!! Great news!
Carrie... :)
Love your art! I have been a fan since finding you on Etsy. Just perused your blog, and I can so relate...I too am a mother of 2 boys aged 3 and just-turned 5, and I long for more time to create art (you have a previous post where you pause to attend a screaming child--a regular for me!) Wishing you continued success and creative inspiration :)
